I'm writing this review to not only compliment the writer, but to refute the asinine review made by a woman who bought the book for her high school son.
He apparently read only the first few pages that sets up the conflict for the younger brother. Had your son continued to read he would have realized the older son takes his brother under his wing, so to speak, and he and others are taught both the sport and life lessons as a result. I'm in my forties and I thoroughly enjoyed the book.
I think that the woman who bought the book for her son suggest he read further than two pages. He'll be hooked.
Author did a great job! |

I am the mother of 3 young boys and I bought this book to give to them. I always try to read the books I buy for them and I usually have to make myself slug through the pages, but I couldn't put this book down. The storyline keeps you wanting to know what happens next and it covers many of the peer pressures of growing up and troubles kids face trying to fit in at school, so I felt like it made my job easier as a parent. It opened the discussion for questions on issues we were just about to cover with our sons. I really liked the way these "growing up" scenarios were resolved and handled. I would recommend this book to any parent for their children. It's really hard to find books for boys and this book my boys loved!

Awesome book...It is easy to relate to all the characters and we have all known someone like Matt, Mike, Dan, Billy, TJ and even Kimberly during our childhood. Joe Reasbeck does an excellent job sharing their problems and opportunities plus how they all adapt and overcome the challenges of adolescence. My son loved it as well. Great book for any school age boy whether they wrestle or not...Great Book

As a former high school coach of basketball and softball I found the trails and tribulations of Matt and Mike apply to all sports. I couldn't put the book down I had to find out what happened next.
Inspirational book

This book is a must read for anyone that loves the sport of wrestling. Couldn't put it down, that hasn't happened since I read The Firm.
