| A Combat sport, also known as a Combative sport, is a competitive contact sport where two combatants fight against each other using certain rules of engagement (whereas traditional martial arts have no rules), typically with the aim of simulating parts of real hand to hand combat. Boxing, kickboxing, amateur wrestling, Puroresu, mixed martial arts and fencing are examples of combat sports. The techniques used can be categorized into three domains: striking, grappling, and weapon usage. Some rule-sets specialize in one area, while others allow overlap. |

| This "book" is only 103 pages long and too generalized to be of any value to anyone who is interested in any martial art. I have practiced TKD for 47 years, Western boxing for 10 years, Judo for 5, wing chun for 5, and am an instructor in Krav Maga. I do not recommend this book for anyone --the various chapters are so simple and rudimentary that they only contain information that could easily be found on Wikipedia. Poor quality and an unrealistic price make this a book to avoid. |
